The starting point of the Tai Chi teaching as a martial art was to avoid obstacles in combat fluently and not to look for a frontal collision. The practitioner’s body should be equally soft, flexible and sensitive.
The opponent’s intention should be analyzed even with the slightest touch without giving him any noticeable resistance. The principle of the Tai Chi Chuan teaching was to absorb forces and to return these kinetic energies to the opponent.
The importance of the Tai Chi Chuan teaching as a healing art was to preventively prevent, to heal already existing diseases or to be used as an accompanying measure for recovery.
